I always like doing lamps because they can add a really interesting ambiance to almost any setting. Up till now one of the challenges has been trying to integrate the bulb and fixture into whatever you were creating.
Now because of the emergence of LED lighting products I can get way more creative with lighting.
This lamp was actually made using an LED lighting strip which comes in various lengths and can be cut to fit whatever particular application you want. In this case the heart of the lamp is a plexiglass tube and I run four lengths of LED lighting inside to create a good amount of light in between each of the slices.
The wood for this lamp comes from a distressed tree which was going to be disposed of by the school down the street. I saw one of the branches and thought it would be the perfect size to use for this lamp.
The lamp has a five level dimmer and shut off that plugs right into any wall socket and I think would be a great addition to a side table or console table.
